POSITION TITLE: PRECISION/AFS AG.SERVICE TECHNICIAN
DEPARTMENT: SERVICE
REPORTS TO: SERVICE MANAGER


POSITION SUMMARY: Repair, recondition, service, and assemble equipment for the company and its customers. Perform all work as quickly, efficiently, accurately, and completely as possible to ensure customer satisfaction and company profitability.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:


SERVICE / REPAIR WORK
Repair, service, recondition, and assemble equipment as assigned by the Service Manager.
Diagnose problems and determine what repairs are needed.
Adhere to all safety rules, procedures, and practices of the company.
Suggest any additional repairs needed to the Service Manager and/or customer.
Perform equipment inspections.
Responsible for acquiring and maintaining an adequate and complete set of hand tools necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
Utilize all available resources to provide the highest level of customer service possible.

TRAINING / UPKEEP
Maintain in good condition all shop tools, manuals, and reference materials.
Keep a neat, clean, and orderly work area on regular basis.
Maintain and care for personal tools, tool chest, and vehicles, equipment.
Continuously review all product service bulletins, updates, and information relating to the repair and servicing of equipment.
Maintain knowledge of changes in equipment, technology, and models.
Maintain yard and service area on a regular basis.

REPORTING / RECORD-KEEPING
Prepare parts requisitions for service/repair work being performed.
Prepare reports and labor detail required for assignments and turn them in to the Service Manager.
Account for all time worked, materials used, and work orders to which the time and materials are related.

SALES DEPARTMENT: This position impacts the Sales Department by servicing and repairing new and used equipment sold by the Sales Department.

PARTS DEPARTMENT: This position impacts the Parts Department by ordering parts for use in the repair and servicing of equipment.

OFFICE/ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT: This position impacts the Office / Administration Department by generating incoming calls and correspondence.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:
One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to operate agricultural/industrial equipment. Ability to use reference books, materials, and microfiche. Certification and ability to operate forklift equipment. General mechanical aptitude and ability is necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and is occasionally loud.
