We are currently seeking an educated and experienced Safety and Compliance Manager based out of our Corporate office in Mesa and to direct safety and compliance strategies to our other 12 branches across the state of Arizona.
SAFETY
- Compliance and enforcement of all Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and company policy and procedures. (OSHA, AZ Workers Compensation, DOT)
- Develop and implement environmental, health and safety related training programs and policies.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheets.
- Investigate work related accidents and injuries and establish appropriate behavior modifications to prevent recurrences.
- Manage and maintain Safety and Drug and Alcohol compliance accounts.
- Manage and maintain all safety files. (JSA's, Hot Work Permits, LOTO, Equipment inspections, etc.)
- Inspect and maintain safety equipment (respirators, gas monitors, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, fall protection, lift gear registry)
- Purchase PPE and train employees on proper maintenance and use
- Set up and monitor fleet tracking services
DOT COMPLIANCE
- Maintain Driver Qualification files and records.
- Meet DOT requirements as well as applicable state laws and FMCSA guidelines.
- Assure DOT drug and alcohol program is compliant with the FMCSA Clearinghouse regulations.
- Complete DOT IFTA reports quarterly.
- Complete and file MCS150 Bi-Annually.
- Obtain required permits for oversized and overweight equipment.
- Set up and train employees on ELD's.
- Ensure equipment has current registration, paperwork and safety equipment.
- Annual Filing and Renewals for UCR, 2290, IRP and IFTA
Skills and Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in a safety role for an equipment dealership or similar industry
- In-depth knowledge of, DOT, OSHA and EPA standards
- Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead safety orientation and safety meetings.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
