Purpose:
Directs the complete goods sales management team for the entire organization in regards to strategy, long-term planning, and sales processes. Responsible for all sales metrics and budgets for the complete goods sales department. Attracts, retains, and effectively coaches sales management personnel.

Responsibilities:

o Leads the development and deployment of a comprehensive sales strategy and long-term plans which integrates the business’ values, mission, resources and goals
o Develops, communicates, enforces, and monitors effective Sales Department processes across all locations to ensure consistent internal and external customer satisfaction as well as Sales Department efficiencies
o Develops and creates incentives plans for sales team and customers
o Creates annual Sales Department goals (market share, profitability, etc.) and budgets for the entire organization, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives
o Achieves asset turn goals and oversees new and used complete goods inventory levels
o Defines the strategy for used and new equipment sales
o Implements a customer relationship process that will achieve and maintain dealership loyalty
o Ensures appropriate communication with customers, sales staff, other departments and John Deere personnel
o Directs and advises recruiting, staffing and employee development efforts for the Sales Department
o Attracts, retains, and develops sales management personnel

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

o 5+ years sales management experience
o Ability to speak effectively one-on-one and within a group
o Familiar with John Deere and competitive products
o Proven ability to lead and inspire others
o Excellent understanding of financial principles relative to Sales Department operations
o Ability to use Deere sales computer applications and tools
o Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
o Bachelors Degree in business or marketing or equivalent experience
